AIRCRAFT PAINT CORRECTION

Aircraft paint correction is a multi-stage machine polish that removes oxidation, haze, swirl marks, and exhaust staining from the paint, restoring depth and gloss before the surface is protected with wax or ceramic coating.

WHEN PAINT NEEDS CORRECTING

High-altitude sun, de-icing fluid, and years of washing leave paint chalky, hazy, or covered in fine swirl marks. Exhaust soot and fluid streaks can etch into the finish if they sit long enough.

A wash cleans the surface but can't remove damage that is in the paint itself. Paint correction levels that damage out with machine polishing, so the finish reflects light evenly again.

HOW WE CORRECT AIRCRAFT PAINT

We start with a full wash and decontamination, then inspect each panel to decide how much correction it needs. Polishing is done with aviation-appropriate compounds and pads, working carefully around rivets, seams, decals, antennas, and sensors.

Once the paint is corrected we protect it, with a wax for short-term gloss or a ceramic coating for long-term protection, so the result lasts.

Common Questions

AIRCRAFT PAINT CORRECTION FAQ

What is the difference between paint correction and a wax?

Wax adds a temporary protective layer on top of the paint. Paint correction removes oxidation, haze, and swirl marks from the paint itself. Most aircraft get corrected first and then protected.

Can oxidized aircraft paint be restored?

In most cases, yes. Light to moderate oxidation polishes out. If the paint has failed or worn through, we'll tell you before starting so you can plan for paint work instead.

Should I ceramic coat after paint correction?

It's the best time to. A ceramic coating locks in the corrected finish and keeps it glossy for years with regular maintenance washes.
